Envy

I incredibly admire as much as envy some people.

Michael for example.

He has everything I could dream of.
Higher psychology education, lots of energy, interest and curiosity of a small child, access to traveling & scientists' labs and -most importantly- he does educate & smile the hell of us with his amazing Vsauce videos

What makes me envy Michael so much?

He is young, almost at my age. He has succeeded something I'd dream of, having nothing I can't have. He did it. I did not. I envy the same way good piano players and hikers. I would never envy singers, athletes or writers because their good performance is nothing that has ever challenged me.

I have always had that slight inferiority complex.

Nonetheless, some of  those guys are my heroes. These would be celebrated and admired by millions of people in my world. These are the first great Teachers of the 21st Century. They are few right now, maybe some dozens speaking English and even fewer doing excellent work. But soon? this trend ...

I am 23, and already feel a little obsolete. If younger people's way to communicate, have fun, work and learn looks unfamiliar to a former semi-geek of the late ninties, imagine how 60 year-old ministers of education 'understand' today's children.
